Members Present:  Jim Cinotto, Carol O’Connor, Jim Dahlquist, Arlee Grimsley, Mike Boyd, Derek Dexheimer, Nyle Robinson, Barb Bonansinga, Matt Lamsargis, Sarah Carpenter
Not Present: NONE

Jim C. called the meeting to order at 5:35.  Barb moved to accept December 12th’s meeting minutes as corrected and Arlee seconded.  The motion carried.

Jim D. will assist Matt as Race Director Liaison by showing Matt the shed where the Club’s equipment is kept, give him the key, etc.  Jim D. will also email directions for getting on the website to Sarah and Derek so Sarah can update the website and Derek can review and forward (if necessary) emails.  Sarah will also work on creating a database of member’s email addresses for potentially sending future email notices.

Mike Boyd presented the Treasurer’s Report as of January 9th, 2006. The starting balance on December 12th, 2005 was $27,751.86 and the ending balance in January was $25,984.65.  The majority of the expense for the month was RRCA annual insurance fees for the club.  The remainder of expenses was mainly for the Monster Mash as well as computer repairs, postage fees and a donation to the Senior Olympics.  Nyle motioned to accept the Treasurer’s report and Matt seconded the motion.  The motion carried.
Barb estimated the attendance of this year’s Monster Mash at around 250.  She feels that we need to look for a larger venue for the future – Northfield cannot hold more than 250 people in any of their rooms.  Barb would also like to look into booking a premier speaker for next year.  The Board will discuss next year’s Monster Mash at a future meeting.  Also, it was decided that all awards not picked up at their designated race this year will be brought to the Running Center afterward for pick up.  Barb expressed to the Board her appreciation to all the Road Runner members and especially Kris Maurer for all the help she received coordinating this year’s Monster Mash.
The social for February is scheduled for Saturday, February 18th at 7:00 pm.  Barb has set the club up at La Sorrella in the back room.
Various members are getting calls or being asked about starting races as fundraisers. Matt Lamsargis, Race Director Liason, will contact these people to determine exactly what is being requested: information, equipment, assistance?
Members discussed several changes proposed for the 2006 Point Series Rules. First, the Board voted in favor of requiring members to volunteer for at least 2 club events to be eligible for the Point Series award.  Also, racers must become a member by the Club’s first race of the season for consideration in receiving this award.  Second, to be eligible for points for a club race once the season has begun, runners must become members at least one week before the scheduled race.  The final change involved protesting points totals.  Once results are posted on the web site after a race, members have two weeks to lodge a protest.  Jim D. made a motion and Mike Boyd seconded to accept these changes.  The motion carried.
Arlee made a motion and Barb seconded the motion to have the club continue providing half the funding for the porta-potty located on Lost Bridge Trail.  The motion carried.
The club again discussed the possibility of club “uniforms”.  Derek Dexheimer provided a catalog for Barb and Mike to review to bring their recommendations back to the Board at a later date.
Jim D. researched prices for a blue and white table skirt with the club’s name on it that can be used at various events to display membership brochures and to draw attention to the club. Barb made a motion to purchase the table skirt for $150, Nyle seconded and the motion carried.
Mike suggested the Club look into different vendors then those used in the past for purchasing race awards.  He has had problems with the current vendor and believes it’s time to work with a new company.

Meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.  The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 13 at 5:30 PM at the YMCA.
