January 8, 2007

Present: Jim Cinotto, Jim Dahlquist, Derek Dexheimer, Mike Boyd, Nyle Robinson, Arlee Grimsely, Barb Bonansinga, Chuck Costello, Matt Lamsargis

Not Present: Carol O’Connor

The meeting was called to order at 5:44.

The minutes from the December board meeting were not available at this time. Thus, there was no discussion on the minutes.

Mike gave the Treasurer’s report. The balance was $29,743.28. Mike stated that we were about $4000 ahead of this same time last year. However, we have not paid our annual insurance yet and we have not received the fees from the Jingle Bell Run. Jim Cinotto also estimated that we were saving in excess of $1000 per month by having St. John’s print our newsletter free of charge. Jim Dahlquist made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report and Arlee seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Barb gave an upate on Monster Mash. As of 1/1/07, the registration was 244 with a total of 400 available. The magnets are on schedule to hand out at the Monster Mash. Barb would like someone to take pictures at the Monster Mash. The itinerary is almost finalized and will include a fun run with Bill Rodgers starting from Panera West on Saturday morning.

It was suggested that a most improved male and female runner will be added to this year’s awards while the “best of the rest” award will be eliminated. Nyle made a motion to accept, Arlee seconded the motion, and the motion carried.

Matt gave an update on the repair of the clocks. They have not been sent in yet, but the process is in place. He is waiting for an estimate and a recommended best method of shipping. The clocks should arrive back in plenty of time for Lincoln Memorial.

Chuck is in the process of adding the 2007 information to the website.

The Points Series for 2007 was reviewed. It was suggested that with one fewer race the maximum number of races be reduced from 10 to 8. Derek made a motion to accept and Arlee seconded the motion. The vote was 6 in favor of the reduction and 2 opposed. The motion carried.

Barb suggested a race volunteer committee. There was not formal vote or action taken, but the suggestion is still on the table.

The meeting adjourned at 6:40.
