Great run everyone. Awesome sea of pink! Lets do it again.
Kudo’s to all the folks who contributed to today’s run, it was a beautiful day and you all did a fantastic job. Thank you!!
Women’s Distance Festival heritage hit a new level its 31st year in participation by women and girls interested in health and fitness. It was a snap shot and testimony to the values women hold dear. Thank you Susan Helm and her Team for your leadership and dedication to making this first class event focused on women and girls of all ages. This was a proud moment for the Springfield area!
Best WDF ever!!!! And not only was I thrilled to be running with my daughter and two granddaughters, but blown away that I received first place in the 70-74 age division! Thanks to all who organized and made this race possible!!
YES! Thank you to all that made this great race possible. As a beginning runner, this was my first WDF & first all girl race. I didn’t expect it to be an emotional experience, but it was just so cool to see so many women running & many running together with daughters, grandmothers, friends, etc… During the race, I heard so many encouraging words among groups that I had to fight back tears several times. And, with the great snacks, info booths, decorations & even door prized, it was obvious a great bunch of women had spent a large amount of time getting it all together. My 3 daughters all participated in the kids runs & they can’t stop talking about it. Thank you for a great day! We can’t wait for next year!
First, what a great day/race on Saturday. My son and I had a great time. I just found out that I took 3rd place in my age bracket from Mike Matulis and am totally pumped. Is there someone I need to contact to get my jewlery? Or you can reach me at 585-1942.
Thanks for a great race!
When will 2010 pics be up on the WDF website?
Believe it or not, two weeks post-race and I’m still working on tying up loose ends which includes trying to find the owner of a set of JEEP keys left at the Women’s Distance Festival. If you are that owner or know who is, please contact me at susan.helm@comcast.net
