2008 Points Standings
The SRRC Points Series is for Springfield Road Runners Club members. It is designed to encourage participation in specific races throughout the year, to promote competition among age group runners, and to recognize the runners who have excelled at a variety of distances over the course of the year. To be eligible to participate:
- You must be a SRRC member by the Lincoln Memorial half marathon (March 31, 2007), the first race of the year. Your membership must be received by the day of the race in order for you to score points in the race. If you are not a SRRC member by the Lincoln Memorial, only races where your membership was received no later than one (1) week prior to the event will count towards your year-end total.
- You must complete at least two (2) races and volunteer for at least two (2) club events.
- Your age as of the Lincoln Memorial (March 31, 2007) will establish your Age Group and division for the entire Points Series season.
- An individual’s points are tabulated both in Age Group and Overall categories for each race finished. In addition, those over 40 years of age are tabulated in a Masters division. Year-end Overall or Masters Winners are not eligible for Age Group awards.
- Age Groups are as follows: 14 and under, 15 -19, 20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 -34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 -49, 50 -54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 and over. If not enough participantsare in the age groups above 60, the SRRC reserves the right to award only a 60 plus or 65 plus award.
- Points are awarded as follows ( for Overall, Masters, and Age Group ): ten points for first, nine points for second,eight points for third, seven points for fourth, six pointsfor fifth, five points for sixth, four points for seventh,three points for eighth, two points for ninth, and one pointfor tenth. These points are only tabulated against fellowSRRC Points Series participants, not runners from otherclubs.
- Your eight best races will be counted out of the entireseries. Tiebreaker: head-to-head record. The SRRCreserves the right to determine additional tiebreakers.
- Races with multiple distances will have only one distance designated as the Points Race. The Lake Run 12K, thePassavant 10K, the Steamboat 4 Mile, the Abes Amble 10K, the Autumn Shoreline 15K, and the Frostbite 10Mile are the designated Points Races
- SRRC members have 14 days after the points have beenupdated and posted on the SRRC website to contest the accuracy of the tabulations.
